At Whole Foods yesterday, I made an incredible discovery.
Sunflower Seed Butter!
Because of my recent allergies to
all food peanuts, tree nuts, soy, sesame, and gluten intolerance, I’ve been seriously missing some PB love in my diet. I’ve been unable to try and health-nut staple recipes involving nut butter because I’m allergic to nuts, however now I can eat all things nut butter!
I was scared it was going to be disgusting, but it actually tasted like peanut butter. It’s definitely not the same, but hey it’ll do :) I have numerous sunflower seed butter covered fingers last night… ;)
Right away, I knew that the first recipe I wanted to try was Fitnessista’s breakfast cookie.
I ended up with this deliciousness this morning :)
In my breakfast cookie:
- 1/3 cup gluten free oats
- 1 tbsp Organic Sunflower Seed Butter
- 1 tbsp brown rice vanilla protein powder
- 1/8 cup of flax milk
- several generous shakes of cinnamon
- 1 tsp natrual maple syrup
